alright so…
I stopped to get gas on my way home from dance in the pouring rain. As I get back to my car to pump gas a guy who had been standing outside the station comes up to me and offers to pump my gas for me to I can sit in my car and stay out of the rain. I politely declined but he politely insisted and so he pumped my gas for me and even went back in to get my change. He asked me for nothing in return. And when I thanked him profusely he just said “you’re welcome” and “That’s what we do in Westport” before walking away.
It’s pretty great to live in a town where strangers aren’t necessarily people to be feared.
